Prophecies Concerning
The Lord Jesus Christ

It is estimated there are 35 specific prophecies of betrayal, trial, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ all fulfilled in 72 hours.
The chance of co-incidence is one in billions.

Professor, with the endorsement of the America Scientific Affiliation, has estimated that for the Lord Jesus to have fulfilled these prophecies purely by chance could be expressed mathematically as one chance in 10.181 or 10 with a hundred and eighty more zero's added on.
What a number. What a chance. What a Saviour.

Let's consider some remarkable prophecies concerning Christ Jesus.

Genesis 3: v 15, "And I will put enmity between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her Seed.
He shall bruise your head,
And you shall bruise His heel."

In doing so satan was permitted to bruise His (Jesus) heel.

The seed of the woman is Godís seal upon the virgin birth foretold in Isaiah 7: v 14,
"Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign;
Behold the virgin shall conceive, and bear a Son,
And shall call His name Immanuel."

Isaiah 9: v 6, A marvelous promise.
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given:
And the government will be upon His shoulder:
And His name will be called

Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

Man would not, could not have any part in this gift for the child to be born. He was to be a Son.
John 3: v 16, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son…"
The virgin birth; God can teach the simplest mind a lesson from creation, the male bee for example, has no father but is the offspring of the queen bee.

Micah 5: v 2, "But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah,
The one to be ruler in Israel." Here is one of the greatest prophecies about Jesus, proclaimed seven centuries in advance of its fulfillment. "Explicitly and only in Him of old from everlasting."

Isaiah 53: v 5, How true this prophecy is even today.
"But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities: The chastisement for our peace was upon Him;
And by His stripes we are healed."

Would anyone suggest that He persuaded a friend to betray Him?
Psalm 41: v 9, "Even my own familiar friend in whom I trusted, who ate my bread.
Has lifted up his heel against me."

How could we explain the fact the chief priest agreed that thirty pieces of silver should be the price of betrayal?
Zechariah 11: v 12, "So they weighed out my wages thirty pieces of silver."
Zechariah 11: v 13, "So I took the thirty pieces of silver, and threw them into the house of the Lord for the potter."
Mathew 27: v 5, "Then he threw down the pieces of silver in the temple."

Can we explain how Jesus arranged to be crucified, when the Jewish method was stoning?
Psalm 22: v 16, "They pierced my hands and my feet."
Was it a co-incidence that He cried, My God, My God?
How did Jesus, after His death, persuade a roman soldier to pierce His side?
Zechariah 12: v 10, "Then they will look on me whom they have pierced."
How did He arrange for them to part His garment?
Psalm 22: v 18, "They divide My garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots."
Why did they offer Him vinegar to drink?
Psalm 68: v 21, "And for my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink."

How did Jesus, when He was dead, persuade the soldiers not to break His legs, as they did to the thieves on either side of Him?
Psalm 34: v 20, "He guards all His bones; not one of them is broken."
Do we realize that not any roman soldier or the devil could break a bone of His.
Because The Lord had declared not one should be broken.

How did Jesus arrange to be crucified on the 14th day of the first month, exactly fulfilling the Passover type?

He declared that He would Rise again. Mathew 20: v 19b, "And the third day He will rise again."
Acts 1: v 9-11, "This same Jesus…will so come in like manner."
These are only some of the prophetic scriptures.

May I ask, what does the death and resurrection mean to you?
What impact does it have on your daily life?
Is it just an historical event, an item of your faith - or is it such that your entire life begins anew with this glorious fact?
The resurrection of Jesus Christ released all the promises of God, it is the enjoyment of these promises that makes possible a life where;
Sin is restrained, temptation is resisted, fear is neutralized and anxiety and depression loose their power.

It is in the glory of His Presence that healing, deliverance, restoration and empowerment take place.
These are days of refreshing, be refreshed in Jesus Name.
